The present collection features articles by Ukrainian and foreign scholars who are working in the field of oral history or are using its methods. The authors examine various aspects of Ukrainian history in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, particularly recent and current events: the Revolution of Dignity and the Russo–Ukrainian War. They investigate many current questions relating to contemporary methodology and the practices of oral history research, as well as problems connected with the politicization of the thematic spectrum of oral history research, the correlation between political engagement, scholarly ethics, and academic responsibility, and conflicts and interactions between oral history and memory and between community perceptions and academic discourses.

The articles also explore the application of oral history methodology for the analysis of critical periods in history, their current consequences, etc.

An e-version of the publication will be available on our website in the summer 2021.
